Rights refuses to suppress protesters in Basra and demands accountability of those responsible for killing the demonstrator

The Iraqi Center for Supporting Freedom of Speech (Rights) rejects the suppression of a demonstration for the unemployed by the riot police in the province of Basra, which killed one demonstrator and injured four others.
The Iraqi Center (Rights) recorded the killing of the demonstrator (Saad Yaqub al-Mansouri) after shooting and wounded 4 others.
The Iraqi Center (Rights) expresses its concern about the increasing number of violations cases to the freedom expression and opinion. It calls on the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Prime Minister Dr. Haidar Al-Abadi, to direct the security leaders not to overtake the demonstrators as they exercise their constitutional right in a peaceful protest against the deteriorating service reality.
The Iraqi Center (Rights) asked the Minister of the Interior and the Commander of Operations in Basra, also to Punishing those responsible for shooting at the demonstrators and killing one of the citizens.
The representative of the Iraqi Center (rights) in Basra province said” the demonstration for the unemployed started Sunday morning in the Bahla West Qurna north of Basra, where demonstrators cut the road leading to oil companies to demand employment opportunities for them, but the riot police deployed quickly with helicopter gunships, adding that the riot police used live bullets to disperse the demonstrators, which led to the death of a demonstrator and injuring three others wounded”.
