The Iraqi Center for Supporting Freedom of Speech (Rights) condemns the repeated abuses and attacks by the security forces in Basra province on the protesting citizens in protest against the deterioration of the service situation and the lack of job opportunities.
The Iraqi Center (Rights), attacking an officer in the Basra Operations Command with unacceptable words to peaceful demonstrators, and exceeding his security powers, is totally unacceptable.
So, The Iraqi Center asked the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Dr. Haidar Al-Abadi, and the Minister of the Interior, Qasim Al-Araji, demand urgent measures against the aggressors against the peaceful protesters and not only the investigative committees formed because the attacks renewed and the injuries of citizens increased.
The Iraqi Center calls on citizens who have been attacked to bring lawsuits against members of the security forces, pledging to provide a team of lawyers to defend the demonstrators before the judiciary.
