The Rights Center for Freedom of Expression Support condemns repeated attacks and violations against journalists by members of the security forces when they cover events in the country's areas, the most recent of which was the attack with Al-Anbar satellite channel crew by members belonging to the eighth division of the army forces in Qaim district of Anbar province.
While the Rights Center refused to interrogate the Anbar TV crew and to take their identity cards after beating of the channel's cameraman Mohammed Ahmad Badawi at the Rummanah Bridge checkpoint, while the crew of the channel was preparing a report on the security and service situation, the Center calls on the General  Army, Lieutenant-General Othman Al-Ghanmi, to take an urgent decision to punish the aggressors, and they should to respect the freedom of press and to pledge not to repeat these barbaric attacks.
The Rights Center calls on the management of Al- Anbar Satellite Channel to file a lawsuit against members of the 8th Army Division for assaulting the channel staff while pledging to provide a team of lawyers in this regard.
