The Rights Center for Freedom of Expression Support rejects the crackdown by some government ministries on its employees or people who criticize its performance or reveal files to the public opinion, the latest of which was with the retired Lieutenant General Jalil Khalaf Shuwail, in which the Ministry of Defense filed a criminal complaint against him for expressing his opinion during his hosting on a television program, because he revealed several facts about military operations and poor planning in the management of the security file in the past years.
While the Rights Center deplores the Ministry of Defense's decision to withdraw the Lieutenant General Jalil Khalaf Shuwail, to the court in order to restrict him from practicing his work, and calls on the Ministry to invest the information disclosed to the public opinion in assessing the performance of the ministry for what is reflected in the interest of the security country.
The Rights Center calls on the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces to immediately withdraw the complaint filed by the Ministry of Defense against Lieutenant General Jalil Khalaf Shuweil for restricting freedom of expression and violating the constitution and laws in force.
The Rights Center for Freedom of Expression Support undertakes to provide a legal defense team to respond to the claims of the Ministry of Defense against Lieutenant General Jalil Khalaf Shuwail, and the realization of the right in accordance with the principles of freedom of expression, publication and fact-finding.
