The Iraqi Center for Supporting Freedom of Speech (Rights) condemns the arrest of six demonstrators in Basra by the oil company's protection police, for their request to approve a demonstration.
At the same time, the Iraqi Center (Rights) rejects the systematic targeting of young demonstrators in Basra by making paying police and state employees to prosecute them to destroy their future, so the center calls upon the Governor of Basra and the security authorities to desist from these methods and to respect the Constitution which guarantees freedom of expression and demonstration.
The Iraqi Center (Rights) calls on detained demonstrators to contact the Center for the purpose of filing lawsuits against persons who obstruct their peaceful protests and pledges to provide a team of lawyers for cases.
